Why E-bikes?
E-bikes have a clear health benefit to anyone choosing to ride one. Cycling is a comprehensive cardio activity, improving heart and lung health, and strengthening muscle. As for your mental health, riding an e-bike is consistently rated as being more fun than regular cycling. Plus, being outdoors is known to have a positive impact on your mental well-being.
E-Biking:
-
E-Bikers statistically use their bike more often than regular bikers, covering distances more than 2x what regular cyclists travel.
-
Although it is less likely intense, they may be getting more consistent & more frequent exercise.
-
This opens a form of travel and exercise to people of an age or fitness and ability level that find using a regular bicycle challenging or impossible.
-
E-Biking is a more realistic alternative to a car, especially trips under 5km.
-
Thanks to the low cost of electricity and overall efficiency of bicycles.
-
This switch is great for the environment and boosts your physical and mental well-being.
Some families or couples are able to become a single vehicle household rather than a two-vehicle household with the purchase of an e-bike. An added benefit of the bike’s propulsion is that you can arrive to work fresh and ready by increasing the bike’s power at any hills or strenuous sections. An e-bike encourages children to become more active as well and can turn long-distance cycling into a family activity.
Concerned about transporting groceries or children? E-bikes and bicycles alike can be customized by purchasing a trailer attachment, some that are suitable for children of many ages, and cargo of any sort. You can also purchase “cargo-bikes” that have these spaces built into the frame of the bicycle.
DID YOU KNOW
Cycling in the winter is made easier with an e-bike.
Many e-bikes, like regular bicycles, support thick “fat tires” that give better traction on gravel, dirt, and snow. Some e-bikes actually default to fat tires rather than narrower road tires! The extra push of the electric motor may help get you through an unplowed section of a trail, road, or sidewalk. And propel you toward the warmth of your destination more quickly.

Some bikes have both of these options, while others only have one.

Your e-bike will come with a charging cord that will charge the bike’s battery, in a regular 3-prong outlet. Your bike’s battery may be able to be removed from the bike, or may be a part of the bike’s frame.
